Children:
Danielle (Dani) Hope, 16 months old. She was adopted at birth. Dani is a bright, active toddler who loves to play outside and read books. She is fair skinned, with light-brown, curly hair and bright blue eyes.

Interests and Hobbies:
Together we participate in many activities, including hiking with our dog, going to the beach, mountain biking, and volunteering with the high schoolers at our church. As a family we enjoy spending time at our local beach, traveling to San Diego and Santa Barbara, and spending time with our four young nieces. Daniel is a high school chemistry and anatomy and physiology teacher. He has six years of teaching experience. During his free time, he enjoys surfing and playing sports with his friends. Daniel is also an amateur photographer who enjoys taking nature photos and photos of our daughter. Beth was an elementary school teacher for eleven years before she became a mother. She enjoys cooking, sewing, scrapbooking, making greeting cards, running, mentoring high school students and participating in a Bible Study with the women at her church.

Home:
We have been blessed to own our own home in a California beach community since 2001. The neighborhood we live in is amazing. There is an award winning elementary school right next door to us. The end of our street leads to a huge park full of a new playground, volleyball courts, basketball courts, a soccer field, and baseball fields. There is a bike trail that starts at the end of our street and leads to the beach. The beach is a ten-minute drive from our house. Our neighborhood is full of children of all ages.

Pets:
We love our five-year-old black lab, Jetty. He is great with children and has been around our daughter and nieces and done very well. Jetty is a part of our family and we take him on walks every day.

Finances:
Dan has a stable job that provides for us financially and also provides excellent medical and dental insurance. Dan has tenure in his school district and his job is very secure. Both of us worked for the first seven years of our marriage and we have a nice savings account to draw from if the need arises. We live within our means and have no debt, other than our monthly mortgage payment.

Interest in Adoption:
We tried to have biological children for four years before we pursued adoption. First we tried to conceive a child naturally, then with the help of infertility, but we were not able to achieve a pregnancy. Dan was adopted when he was two days old, so we knew that adoption would be an option for us to grow our family. We had an amazing experience adopting our daughter Dani and it is so exciting for Dan to look ahead to the bond he will share with her and our future adopted child, as he is an adopted child, too!

Openness to Birthparents:
We are open to attending doctor’s appointments and being there for the birth of the baby if the birthparents are open to that. We will be happy to exchange pictures and e-mails after the child is born. We will raise our child to know that s/he is adopted and will support our child if s/he chooses to meet her birthparents when s/he is old enough to ask about them.

Child Care Plans:
Beth is a stay-at-home mom and we will have no need for child care.
