Dear Birth Mother,
Sean is an amazing husband, friend, and father. Dena has found such joy in watching him grow as an adoring father. We have been so blessed to have him work from home 4 out of 5 days as he has his own software consulting business. He is truly a Godly man who is trustworthy, honest, loving, and supportive. He is currently learning to play guitar and we enjoy listening to him play in the evenings. He loves sports and can often be found watching a basketball or football game on TV or working out at the gym. He is a diehard UCLA fan, which is where he got his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Sean is 100% Cuban-American and takes pride in his heritage and strong family ties. Dena is a kind and compassionate mother and wife. You can see these traits in every aspect of her life – from her interactions with Eva to her job as a Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife. When not chasing our daughter around the house or driving her around town, she enjoys crafts, playing volleyball, and photography. Her job allows her to use what she learned while earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing and still be home 5 days a week. Even when she works, we are blessed to have family members close by to take care of Eva. She is so excited to have a baby in the house again. Eva is a fun-filled little 3 year old that always has us laughing. Grandparents have nicknamed her the “adorable firecracker” because she has a spunky side to her! She is ecstatic to be in preschool at the local Christian school three mornings a week and talks about it often. She has a great “motherly” instinct and can often be found in her playhouse, or room, feeding her 5+ baby dolls a bottle, changing their diapers and clothes, and then putting them down for “nappy time” multiple times a day. She can’t wait to have a new baby in the house.
We have been tremendously blessed with amazing extended families and parents that have been married 30+ years. Sean’s parents and little sister live only miles from us and we share family dinner every Sunday night. They also enjoy Saturday evenings with Eva for a little “Abuela and Abuelo time” and sometimes venture to the mall or over to their house for cookies and playtime. Sean’s brother and wife live in Seattle and come to visit often. Dena’s parents live a few miles from us and are frequently seen around our house for dinner, beach days, dates at the park near by, and whenever else they can sneak in some “Grandy and Grampy time”. Dena’s brother also lives within a few miles and is often seen down at the beach surfing. We also have three great-grandparents who live close by that adore weekly visits with their great-grandbabies whom they spoil rotten! We were both raised in strong, loving, Christian families and deeply desire to raise our children in a Christian home so they will know the love of Christ just as we were raised. Our promise to you as a birthmother is to love this child unconditionally. With the love and support of our extended family and friends, we will nurture him or her in a loving Christian environment filled with hugs, kisses, many “I love you’s”. We value education, adventure, and family time and we would be honored to have your precious baby join our family. We thank you for taking time to read our letter and we would love to meet you and get to know you better. We first want to thank you for taking time to read our story. We are encouraged by your bravery and unselfish love and pray often for your strength both physically and emotionally. We know you have many hopes and dreams for your child and we pray that we will be able to make those hopes and dreams a reality. We know that adoption is the most selfless and courageous act a birthmother could possibly do and we thank you for allowing us to be a part of that journey.
We are Sean and Dena and are so excited to embark on this journey of adoption. We have been married for 9 years and have an amazing little girl, Eva, who is 3 years old. When doctors said that it would be unsafe to try pregnancy again, we immediately knew that adoption was the next step for our family to grow. We are high school sweethearts and have always known that our children would be raised in a loving Christian home. Our days are filled with parks, play dates, snuggling on the couch as a family, beach days, bagels on Saturday mornings, and a lot of laughter. We can’t wait to have another little one join our family.
We just moved into a new 4 bedroom house and are enjoying our small neighborhood that has a lot of young kids to keep Eva busy, sidewalks for our frequent walks around the block, a fun pool, and a great backyard for riding a tricycle or just kicking the ball around. We also have a beautiful room just waiting to welcome the new baby home. As Eva would say “this room is for the baby”!
