Dear Birth Mother,

Our names are Nils and Courtnay and we have been happily married for 11 years. We have an 8 year old son named Jax, who is a complete joy. Adding another member to our family will be a dream come true for all of us! We live in Southern California and enjoy the mountains, the desert, and the beach. Traveling is our passion and we are always up for a new adventure.

Nils has a strong work ethic and has been successfully running the family business for 8 years. This allows Courtnay to do what she loves best: be a stay-at-home-mom. Nils is very athletic and artistic. When he isn’t working, he loves to spend time with Jax. They play football and baseball together. They surf, skateboard, motorcycle ride, and snowboard together. On occasion, when Nils takes some time to himself, he likes to kiteboard or go mountain bike riding.

Courtnay is creative and has a love for photography and scrapbooking. She loves nothing more than having a house fun of neighborhood kids and throwing BBQ’s for friends and family. Courtnay has an amazing network of friends who also stay-at-home. We get to spend many hours with all our children at the park and our community swimming pool. Courtnay volunteers at Jax’s school. She has fond memories of taking Jax to Mommy & Me preschool when he was little. Courtnay and Jax like going to the beach to boogie board, build sand castles, and explore the tidepools together.

Jax loves life! He is kind and generous with a contagious laugh. Jax makes friends easily and is well liked. He is very athletic like his dad and there isn’t anything he won’t try. He loves going to camp in the summer and enjoys singing in the school talent show every year with friends in their “rock band”. Jax is looking forward to becoming a big brother and tells everyone that we are adopting a baby. The only thing bigger than Jax’s heart is his smile and personality.

The three of us enjoy many activities together. We love to go camping, fly fishing, hiking, bike riding and sailing. We have fun just hanging out playing board games or watching movies together. We have a wonderful 5 year old Golden Retriever named Eli. He loves all kids and is Jax’s best buddy!

We make our marriage a priority and we look forward to our monthly “date nights” with each other. We take turns planning the dates and usually it is a surprise. We are completely committed to each other and to our son.

We travel every year with our extended families and treasure those times together. Jax has very involved grandparents who love spending time with him. They are supportive of all his activities and show up to cheer him on at his flag football games, Little League games, and soccer games. He is very attached to his grandparents and love them to no end! We are absolutely blessed with an amazing support group of friends and family.
