Dear Birth Mother,

Hello, our names are Kevin and Jen. Thank you for taking some time to get to know us. We are hopeful that this letter will offer you a feeling of comfort as you consider a potential adoption plan for your baby. You will always hold a special place in our hearts as we believe that adoption is a precious gift, and we want you to know how much we appreciate and value your decision. We cannot imagine the turmoil and anxiety that you must be experiencing as you consider adoption, but we pray that you feel God's love and guidance as you make this incredibly difficult decision. Please know that we will always make sure your child knows how special you are and how much love and care went into this decision.

Our Decision to Adopt: We have always dreamed of becoming parents and being able to share our, experiences, love, and life with a child. However, after years of emotionally difficult infertility, we came to the realization that we would not be able to conceive. We carefully researched several options and made a firm choice not to pursue infertility treatments, but rather build our family through adoption.

About Us, our Family and our Friends: Kevin and I are a Christian couple, active members in our church, and plan to raise our children to know and love God. We met in college, where we were both Biology students, and after a few months of "study dates" became close friends, fell in love, and have been inseparable ever since. Now in our thirties (along with our cat, Raja) we have been happily married for over 10 years. Our extended family includes parents, siblings, other relatives, and many childhood friends, each of which is excited to be grandparents, aunties, and uncles. Kevin was influenced by the "if you're a friend, you're family" attitude of his parents and it is a philosophy that we have now incorporated into our lives. Since we have moved to California we have developed a network of friends including, neighbors, business colleagues, and those that are a part of a close-knit group at our church. We are extremely blessed that our family and friends have and will continue to support us on this journey.

What we Enjoy: We enjoy traveling and whether it is a destination outside of the United States or within driving distance; we take every opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of going to new places. We like to spend time outdoors going to Angel games, hiking in the local mountains, and relaxing at the beach. We cannot wait to release the inner-child in us as we go as a family to the park, zoo, or amusement parks. Although we love to have fun outdoors, some our best moments have been spent together curled up on the couch watching a movie, and it is these types of moments that we are most excited to spend together as a family.

About Kevin (from Jen): Kevin earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and currently has a great job in Medical Education. Kevin is my best friend, and I cannot begin to tell you how much he means to me. Kevin is hard working, but also playful, loving, and sweet. He has made my life so much more interesting and fun. He loves and plays (or tries to) almost every sport imaginable and has taught me more than I thought possible about football. He is also an excellent cook and can create almost anything in the kitchen. He is committed, loyal and devoted to everything he does. I know he will be an amazing father.

About Jen (From Kevin): Jen has a Master's Degree in Communicative Disorders and currently is a private practice Speech-Language Pathologist. Jen has an unbelievable love for children and has devoted her career to helping kids with special needs. I am in awe of her patience as well as her ability to teach and put a smile on the face of every child she comes in contact with. Jen has enjoyed her career, but she is anticipating the day when she will get to be a stay-at-home mom. Jen is a resilient and determined woman, who is also kind and loyal, and has a vast amount of love to give. I am very lucky that she is my wife and I pray that she will have the opportunity to fulfill her greatest dream; to be a mom.

Our Promise to You: We promise you that we will provide for your baby's health, safety, security, and will love your baby for the rest of their life. We will do all we can to encourage, nurture, and support your baby's dreams so that they may blossom into the person they were destined to be. Kevin and I have great respect for your decision to consider an adoption plan for your baby. We are receptive to an open adoption situation and will do all that we can to ensure that the vision of the adoption is met for all involved. We are also able to assist you with medical and other related expenses as allowed by law.
