Dear Birth Mother,
Numerous medical tests concluded that we were unlikely to ever conceive our own child. With faith, we turned this situation over to God -trusting He knew what was best for us. Through prayer we were drawn to adopt an unborn child into our hearts. We prayed for the baby and mother. It was nothing short of a miracle when a close friend called saying she had recommended us to a family that wanted to place a baby for adoption! Julianna's adoption was a beautiful experience. Meeting Julianna's birth mother and parents was like speaking with family -such warmth and so much in common. Julianna is full of joy and brings this joy to others -a real little sunshine. We remain in touch with Julianna's birth mother and her parents through email, phone calls, sending cards/photos, and occasional visits. We trust in God's timing for a second child and for the surprises He brings. We both come from families with three brothers and sisters, so Julianna is surrounded by loving aunts, uncles and grandparents. She is always excited to spend time with her cousins and can't wait for the chance to be a sister. Ken works as a Product Manager in a company that builds computer equipment. He cherishes every moment with Julianna and appreciates that his job allows him time to be very interactive with her. He is grateful to work in an industry that provides security for our little family. His educational background and interests include business, engineering and medicine, but his first love is being a husband and dad. Judith has worked as a teacher and is a singer/song writer. She specialized in music education for the elementary level and is also certified to teach religious education for high school. One of her favorite pastimes has been performing in community musical theatre productions -which actually facilitated her chance to meet Ken. She now loves being a fulltime mother for Julianna. She continues her music from home and volunteers with Ken in a variety of church activities.
Adoption is an amazing journey and has opened our eyes to a bigger picture of what family can mean for all involved. Know that you are in our prayers. With hearts full of gratitude we thank you so much for considering adoption and taking time to read about us. We know first hand the amount of love, courage and self-giving it takes to choose adoption for your child. We are Ken and Judith Langford, we have been married for six years and we had the incredible joy of adopting our daughter, Julianna, three years ago. We would love to expand our family through adoption!
Our home is located in West Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles, California - driving distance to the beach and close to the mountains for hiking or fun in the winter snow. We love outdoor time on the play set in our back yard, bike rides, walks, running and day trips - especially to parks, libraries, the carousel and Disneyland! There are great schools in our area. Around us are generous and friendly neighbors and we live minutes away from our immediate family. We enjoy filling our home with love and hugs, family traditions, "open house" for the holidays, laughter, music, reading, games, movie nights, cooking, playing chase with our cats, Figaro and Francis and "hide and seek" about 100 times a day! Home is our "safe harbor."
