Dear Birth Mother,
ABOUT HANS: With a name like Hans, you might have guessed he is German. He is half German, thanks to his mother. Hans was born in raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He still has family in Germany which we love to visit every few years. Hans is an airline pilot for Delta Airlines. He has been flying for 15 years, and loves every minute of it. He also has a degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. He is very active, you might call him a sports nut. Like Hans, he has an equally active and loving son, Chase. Hans loves to practice with Chase and has even helped coach his football and baseball team. Hans is a family man, so when heʼs home from work, he wants us all to be together.
We appreciate your taking the time to read this letter and hope that you will be interested in contacting us so we may get to know one another better and explore our possible next steps together. We are Hans and Toni, weʼve been together 8 years and married for almost 6 years. We both graduated from the University of Georgia, in Athens. Hans was in town for a Georgia Football game, and we both went to a mutual friendʼs barbeque after the game. From the first hello we were both hooked. Even though we lived in different towns, we made the relationship work. I fell in love with Hans as a person and as a father. I was so attracted to how devoted Hans was to Chase (Hansʼ 11 year old son) and to their incredible bond. This father- son bond has grown over the years, to which I am still amazed. I also love the fact that Hans can fix, build and repair anything! Hans loved Toniʼs free-spirit, friendly and nurturing nature, and shared love of travel and the outdoors. We hope to share our love of travel with our child. Hans even fell in love with her homemade chili--which he still raves about today. We were married less than 2 years after we met in 2003. We immediately tried to have children of our own. But after years of trying we realized that our family would grow by adopting. We feel God has always had this planned, and we are excited to see who he has chosen for us.
Hansʼ son Chase, has been wanting a brother or sister since we got married. He is excited about the possibility of being a big brother. Overall we are a funloving, caring and active family. We love to laugh and take the positive approach to life. We share a strong faith in God, and believe that faith has kept us positive during this whole process. This faith carries into our extended family who also have been praying for us to add to our family. We also have overcome personal challenges together, with infertility, and it has made us stronger as individuals and as a couple. Those challenges have strengthened our faith, love and respect for each other.
